Our Beginning
When we first opened Saffron in 2004, our dream was simple – to create a place where people could come together to share good food, good company, and a taste of our heritage. What began as a small family restaurant in Manuka soon grew into something much more.
As our community of guests expanded, so did our vision, and in time we found our home in Kingston. It’s here that we’ve spent the past two decades welcoming Canberrans and visitors alike, sharing meals, stories, and the simple joy of gathering around a table.

The Food
Our menu celebrates the flavours of the East Mediterranean – Lebanese, Moroccan, and beyond. Every dish is inspired by recipes passed down through generations, enriched by the freshest local ingredients and the warmth of traditional cooking. We honour the authenticity of our roots while embracing a little creativity in every plate. From the golden thread of saffron to the aroma of chargrilled meats, our food is made to bring people together – to comfort, delight, and connect.

The People
Saffron is, at its heart, a family. You’ll often find Marven in the restaurant, greeting guests, serving tables, and catching up with regulars who have become dear friends over the years. Behind the scenes, Coralie brings the same warmth and care that defines our food into every part of the experience – from the little details on the table to the feeling of being truly looked after. Together, with our dedicated team, we take pride in creating a dining experience that feels personal, welcoming, and full of heart.

Our Home
Located in the heart of Kingston, Saffron is a space designed for connection. The restaurant blends elegance with comfort – warm lighting, soft textures, and an atmosphere that invites you to relax and linger. Whether it’s a quiet dinner, a family celebration, or a long-overdue catch-up with friends, we want Saffron to feel like your home away from home.
